Rendezvous

Marlyce (Martens) Gundy and Sharon (Sawatsky) Schermbrucker began singing classical and folk duets in their teens. After a long hiatus, they reunited to form the chamber group Beauty in the Blends, which has performed across the U.S. and Canada. Meanwhile, Marlyce married Jeff Gundy, and they played and sang folk music as a duo.

As the folk trio Rendezvous, Marlyce, Sharon, and Jeff now bring their close harmonies to tunes by Kate Wolf, the Wailin Jennys, Dave Carter, Old Crow Medicine Show, and others, with all three on vocals and Jeff on 6- and 12-string guitar.

JD Martin is an award-winning songwriter of 5 Number One and 10 Top Ten singles. His songs have been recorded by such luminaries as Reba McEntire, the Oak Ridge Boys, Peter Cetera, and new country pop star Kellie Coffey. After 20 years of writing for other artists in Nashville and Los Angeles, he released his first solo CD, "One Heart," an inspired collection of original songs featuring his soulful voice, and a musical style ranging somewhere between the best of Marc Cohen and Michael McDonald. He recently released a new CD with his wife and musical partner, Jan Garrett, entitled "I Dreamed of Rain." JD is also the writer of two songs used extensively by the Mennonite church, "Unity"(Jesus, help us live in peace) and "Jesus, Rock of Ages."

JD is a true poet and heart-master who knows that the music IS the message. He and Jan live in the mountains of Colorado.

kevin Wayne
http://www.myspace.com/kevinwayne
Portland, Oregon singer-songwriter Kevin Wayne has performed in various coffeehouses in Oregon & Washington. Whether performing at a place that sells latte's, rocking the homeless in a church basement, or playing impromptu at a public park or beach somewhere, people are entertained, encouraged, and challenged to think. That's the very nature of Kevin's music, which he dubs "Alterna Folk-rock", but others have noticed a strong Classic-Rock flavor to his influences. His style has been described as "spiritual folk-rock in the vein of Bruce Cockburn, with a touch of Elvis Costello and the Kinks."

Over the Rhine
http://www.overtherhine.com/

Over the Rhine borrowed their name from one of Cincinnati's most colorful and controversial neighborhoods. It's here that Karin Bergquist and Linford Detweiler first began making their music, somehow imbuing it with the tattered but lovely craftsmanship and sense of history that surrounded them. For their tenth album, DRUNKARD'S PRAYER, Over the Rhine re-immerse themselves in profoundly deep waters, opening the floodgates of their personal relationship. A relaxed, emotionally vulnerable record made in their living room, the album showcases the sonic warmth that can come from recording at home.

UNCUT (UK) "...feels much like a renewal of vows. The vocals of Karin Bergquist add a rich sophistication to piano-led chamber ballads and jazz-inflected folk."
