Rendezvous

Marlyce (Martens) Gundy and Sharon (Sawatsky) Schermbrucker began singing classical and folk duets in their teens. After a long hiatus, they reunited to form the chamber group Beauty in the Blends, which has performed across the U.S. and Canada. Meanwhile, Marlyce married Jeff Gundy, and they played and sang folk music as a duo.

As the folk trio Rendezvous, Marlyce, Sharon, and Jeff now bring their close harmonies to tunes by Kate Wolf, the Wailin Jennys, Dave Carter, Old Crow Medicine Show, and others, with all three on vocals and Jeff on 6- and 12-string guitar.

Those Rowdy Corinthians

Band Members: Samantha Adams (vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, organ, clarinet, tambourine, african drum, hand claps); Joshua Compton (vocals, banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, buckets, wind chime, foot stomps) Many myths and legends have been written about "Those Rowdy Corinthians". Some say that Josh Compton rolled into town one day as a carnival worker, playing guitar for the Strong Man, living off of caramel apples and cotton candy, and combing the Bearded Lady's mustache on the side. While taking a break from work one day, he was walking along the Sugarcreek River and happened upon the most beautiful singing voice he had ever heard. He followed the voice and found Samantha Adams sitting alone among the reeds and willows, strumming her guitar and singing. After that, he never returned to the circus. In other stories, Comtpon has been described as a horse thief, a train engineer, a truck driver, and a door-to-door vacuum salesman, though there is no evidence to support any of these claims (aside from a train engineer's hat). It's hard to say which is true, we only that two souls with a fondness for Civil War era songs, sea chanteys, and Alan Lomax songbooks found each other.
