Rendezvous

Marlyce (Martens) Gundy and Sharon (Sawatsky) Schermbrucker began singing classical and folk duets in their teens. After a long hiatus, they reunited to form the chamber group Beauty in the Blends, which has performed across the U.S. and Canada. Meanwhile, Marlyce married Jeff Gundy, and they played and sang folk music as a duo.

As the folk trio Rendezvous, Marlyce, Sharon, and Jeff now bring their close harmonies to tunes by Kate Wolf, the Wailin Jennys, Dave Carter, Old Crow Medicine Show, and others, with all three on vocals and Jeff on 6- and 12-string guitar.

Reunion Vocal Band
Reunion Vocal Band (RVB) is a composite of 1960s and '70s Mennonite musicians, singers, and song writers hailing from seven different states and one Canadian province. With an emphasis on tight vocal harmony, their repertoire features a variety of styles including folk, folk-rock, gospel, country, rock, and a bit of jazz. RVB has recorded two albums available on CD and tape. Initiated by James R. Krabill, the group formed in 1989, and has been meeting annually to jam ever since. RVB also endeavors to play in concert at least once a year. MennoFolk 2005 will be the venue for this year's RVB public appearance.
Road Less Travelled

Doug and Jude Krehbiel are the husband and wife duet, Road Less Travelled. This lively pair plays an assortment of instruments in concert including guitar, banjo, bass, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, dobro, tin whistle, Irish drum, and jaw harp. With powerful vocals and exciting instrumentals, RLT performs a variety of musical styles combining elements of folk, country, Irish, bluegrass, and rhythm and blues.

Doug and Jude's performances consist mostly of original songs that cover a wide range of topics. Each program contains generous sprinklings of humor. Their material is geared for and enjoyed by people of all ages, including kids.

In 1999 RLT’s CD, Joyful Ditty, was the number two folk album of the year on NPR station WVPE in Elkhart, Indiana. In 2001, RLT enjoyed their fifth win in Winfield National Songwriting Contest. Doug and Jude have toured across the U.S. and Canada, appeared on radio and TV, and recorded nine albums of their original music.

Spencer Cunningham

Spencer Cunningham (on the right in the photo) sings and plays claw-hammer banjo, Guitar and Mandolin, solo or in the string band, "Ten Mile Creek".

His music is drawn from the wonderful old gospel songs he heard as a child while staying with his grand father, who was a Methodist minister in southern Ohio, the folk music he was drawn to in college, and the appalachian ballad and string band music he regularly indulges in through local and regional festivals and 'jams'.

Spencer teaches photography at the Toledo Museum of Art, and Owens Commuunity College. An exhibition, and/or photography/music workshop along with a concert by Spencer or "Ten Mile Creek" is an option.

Those Rowdy Corinthians
http://www.myspace.com/thoserowdycorinthians
"Those Rowdy Corinthians" (Sam Adams and Josh Compton) share their love for their roots, hymns, old-timey songs, and storytelling. Influenced by their Appalachian ancestors, they sing songs about trains, ships, love (lost or not), spiders, losing, running away, death, peace, pain, life, the wind, and God. They tell stories of thieves, disciples, and themselves as they explore their deep love for music and strive to keep the music of their ancestors alive. Singing is loving.
Tim Shue

Tim Shue comes to us from Kidron, Ohio, where he is director of music at Central Christian High School. At home on the guitar, fiddle, and other folk instruments, Tim performs unique arrangements of hymns and original songs. Inspired to by topics like his native Kansas, tornadoes, grandma, church life, to his favorite hobby of birding, Tim's songs are driven by stories, meaning, and connection.

Trent Wagler & the Steel Wheels

Trent Wagler & the Steel Wheels remind me of something I've never heard before. Acoustic String Band and solitary soul performance, bounding fiddle tunes, and deep lyrical landscapes. No wonder John Bright called him "an americana songmaster."
