Rendezvous

Marlyce (Martens) Gundy and Sharon (Sawatsky) Schermbrucker began singing classical and folk duets in their teens. After a long hiatus, they reunited to form the chamber group Beauty in the Blends, which has performed across the U.S. and Canada. Meanwhile, Marlyce married Jeff Gundy, and they played and sang folk music as a duo.

As the folk trio Rendezvous, Marlyce, Sharon, and Jeff now bring their close harmonies to tunes by Kate Wolf, the Wailin Jennys, Dave Carter, Old Crow Medicine Show, and others, with all three on vocals and Jeff on 6- and 12-string guitar.

Sons of the Day

Since it's inception in November of 2003, Sons of the Day has sung in a wide variety of settings and is available to sing at events ranging from church services, civic events, corporate events, weddings, and a host of occasions in between. They perform a cappella music from all eras and genres, from Renaissance motets, Early American folk tunes, to arrangements of popular music and songs by other contemporary a cappella groups.

Singer-songwriter Jonathan Reuel creates memorable songs in the folk-rock/Americana genre. Equally at home in coffeehouses, schools, larger venues and churches, Jonathan is best known in Mennonite circles for penning the tune "Waterfall." Usual themes include hope, struggle, friendship, and love (human and divine).
Silver Tones

Folk and fun music for children and adults. A foursome (Alden & Doris Bohn, Harold and Kate Hartman) in their 70s who say, "We should quit, but we're having too much fun".

Shekinah

Shekinah is an independent female singing group, based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The group originally formed in the fall of 2004 and has been providing music for numerous church services and local events in the Harrisonburg area, and also throughout Virginia and Pennsylvania, since then. Shekinah's repertoire includes a variety of music including folk hymns, spirituals, classical church music, and secular pieces. Although each member has her musical roots in the strong tradition of Mennonite singing, a variety of unique interests and numerous cross cultural experiences contribute to the diversity of this ensemble and the music they choose to sing.

Seventy Two Others
Seventy Two Others is Jeremy Keen and Mike Reeb. One of the first bands to grace the Ground Vinyl Records roster, this acoustic duo from Chicago is strongly influenced by Wilco, Gillian Welch, Elliott Smith, and Bob Dylan. By sharing heart-felt lyrics and stories on stage, Seventy Two Others creates a very comfortable and peaceful atmosphere. And with the ability to switch instruments at the drop of a hat, their shows remain ever-changing. Their latest release, Hard to Find, was entirely written, performed, and recorded by Keen and Reeb.

Scott Pryor is an eclectic performing songwriter who willingly follows his muse through territories of pop, rock and jazz, all while staying firmly rooted in his first love: folk. His songs are imaginative, his arrangements often adventurous, and his guitar playing elegant. His greatest strength, however, are his lyrics, which tell stories that ultimately invite the listener into a deeper understanding of the awesome depth and breadth of our humanity.

A native of Lancaster, Ryan Kauffman is a saxophonist and private teacher in central and eastern Pennsylvania. His playing is heavily rooted in the bop and hard-bop styles, with such titans as John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson and Hank Mobley among his influences. He currently leads his own trio and quartet, and has performed throughout the Central PA region at numerous music festivals.

Road Less Travelled

Doug and Jude Krehbiel are the husband and wife duet, Road Less Travelled. This lively pair plays an assortment of instruments in concert including guitar, banjo, bass, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, dobro, tin whistle, Irish drum, and jaw harp. With powerful vocals and exciting instrumentals, RLT performs a variety of musical styles combining elements of folk, country, Irish, bluegrass, and rhythm and blues.

Doug and Jude's performances consist mostly of original songs that cover a wide range of topics. Each program contains generous sprinklings of humor. Their material is geared for and enjoyed by people of all ages, including kids.

In 1999 RLT’s CD, Joyful Ditty, was the number two folk album of the year on NPR station WVPE in Elkhart, Indiana. In 2001, RLT enjoyed their fifth win in Winfield National Songwriting Contest. Doug and Jude have toured across the U.S. and Canada, appeared on radio and TV, and recorded nine albums of their original music.

Reunion Vocal Band
Reunion Vocal Band (RVB) is a composite of 1960s and '70s Mennonite musicians, singers, and song writers hailing from seven different states and one Canadian province. With an emphasis on tight vocal harmony, their repertoire features a variety of styles including folk, folk-rock, gospel, country, rock, and a bit of jazz. RVB has recorded two albums available on CD and tape. Initiated by James R. Krabill, the group formed in 1989, and has been meeting annually to jam ever since. RVB also endeavors to play in concert at least once a year. MennoFolk 2005 will be the venue for this year's RVB public appearance.
